Scholarship and Award Schemes

The National Archives of Australia offers a range of opportunities for advance research and professional development:

• Frederick Watson Fellowship for established scholars
• Ian Maclean Award for archivists and other professionals who are interested in archival issues
• Margaret George Award for research substantially using the Archives collection
• Summer Scholarships Scheme for undergraduates

In addition, the National Archives of Australia has joined with the Australian Historical Association (AHA) to offer a series of honorary research fellowships. The fellowships will generally be for six months and will enable historians to conduct research during periods of study leave. Applications for the first round of fellowships closed on 1 May 2003.
